< Back to Pregnancy             < Back to DROWINGS

In this cycle consisting of around 400 works, pregnancy is represented as the symbol of the perfection of fertility and renewal, with the topics of installations, androgyny, as well as the primal visual experiences of mothers in relation to their own altered bodies, through the effability and ineffability of the experiences of external effects (corporeal deformities) compensated by the internal and irrational experiences of the divine in the very act of creation. The exteriority of the infant’s world sublimates in this cycle our primeval memories of the ergonomy of the mother’s womb, different perceptions of space and our bodily role in populating it. The works are accompanied by specially selected photographs, video recordings and the cycle BREASTFEEDING to which a separated review is dedicated.
