This series of abstract drawings is created by specially prepared ritual processes of meditation, based on the symbol of the toy-zoe doll. The drawings and sketches were made between 1994 and 1996 for a series of large sculptures devoted to the symbols of universal childhood games such as toy soldiers, tops, Pinocchio, wooden horses and the like.

The drawings of the toys are mostly sketches for sculptures and installations which must be rendered in large dimensions, precisely because of the need for emphasizing the contrast between them and the generally small proportions of the original models taken as the basis for this conceptual exploration. The sculptures in question are kinetic installations with some features of robotics and with unpredictable reactions to the audience, touching certain areas of the very object of installation or altering the position of its spatial structure. This effects a new contemporary reading of some of the ancient specimens of toys, which are archetypally important part of the reading and understanding of numerous present-day symbols of childhood. The toys selected for thematic units chiefly carry and emanate symbols of universality on a global scale, and as such they have been present for centuries in the growing up of every one of us. It is important to mention that a comparative analysis of certain archeological samples clearly shows that the symbols of these toys were present in the cultures of some of the most ancient civilizations, even in some prehistoric forms of life.
